Gift Card Box

There is a bit of a story to this gift box ... my two boys absolutely adore our neighbours and are constantly over at their house. They are very patient with the boys, playing games with them, teaching them songs, even taking them out to lunch or dinner occassionally and now refer to them as their 'grand-friends' (very cute!). On several occasions they have babysat for us, but refuse to take any payment or gift.
I decided that a handmade gift doesn't count so to show my gratitude I made this gift box and filled it with some of my homemard cards. When I delivered it I made a point of telling them it was handmade rather than store purchased. Several days later I asked if they liked the gift and was greeted by a laugh and the confession that it was assumed it was a box of chocolates and was promptly put in the fridge for later. I can only imagine their surprise later that night when they thought they would treat themselves to some handmade chocolates only to find a box of cards - I hope they weren't too disappointed!!

Design Notes: Be sure to add a tag or piece of ribbon to bottom of sliding box to make it easier to pull it out; Stamps used on the box are from the 'Scribble This' set from Stampin' Up!; Stamps used on card shown are from the 'Loads of Love' set from Stampin' Up!

I like this idea for gifts for those people who have had an input into your life. Nice personal touch.
