Celebrate

I made this card for my mum for her birthday - actually she hasn't even been given it yet, so I suppose this is a little cheeky! The stamp is 'slanted tree' by Hero Arts which I purchased at a craft expo a couple of months ago.

Design notes: The tree is stamped in basic brown onto my card base and I have used my blender pen to colour in the flowers. I have restamped the flowers, coloured them in, cut them out (a little fiddly but worth it) and used a pop-up dot to raise them off the card. The blue background is torn tissue paper.

I adore you

I have a terrible/wonderful habit for making 'passion purchases' - you know where you just fall in love with a paper and MUST have it, even when you don't currently have a photo to use with it (am I alone here??). This paper was purchased well over a year ago but when I printed this pic I knew exactly what paper to use ... there is a method to my madness!

Design notes: I used a knife to cut around the flowers and leaves so the photo would slot behind them. The title was created using chipboard letters, inking in blue then covering with Crystal Effects to give a glossy effect. As the ink didn't perfectly match the shade of blue on the paper I have used a blender pen to colour some of the flowers and this seems to have created a partnership between the title and the paper.

Ho, ho, ho!!

I pondered for a very long time how to get my collection of xmas photo's onto one layout. I knew what papers I wanted to use, but knew that if I put all the pics on the page the paper would barely be visible. After a few coffees (and possibly some chocolate too!) this was the result ... and I love it!

Design notes: The title is printed onto cardstock and cut to size. The corner embellishments are made on my digital diecutter, as are the album brackets. The santa was printed onto cardstock and coloured in using a blender pen and inkpads, as was the title on my 'album'. The journaling on the last page is printed onto paper and attached to the page.

Rome wasn't built in a day ...

Hi fellow scrappers! I am a keen scrapbooker and card maker and have finally got away from the scrapdesk and onto the computer to set up my blogspot. Wonders will never cease.

Bear with me as I no-doubt make many changes as I um and ah over the various options of layouts and settings. I plan to design my own header but my design programs are on the blink so this may take some time.

Watch this space for more updates ...
